This video was made for our TBI Voices project. We interviewed thirty real life survivors of brain injury. In these interviews we talked to the survivors about how they became brain injured and who they were before their brain injury. We also talk about their recovery and what deficits they have encountered because of their brain injury.
I usually don’t initiate a conversation. I don’t like being put on the spot. I can not think as fast. I can not handle it at a bar. I have two friends that I can say anything to. I feel like they don’t treat me any differently. I have cut myself off from a lot of people. I feel like they are treating me differently. I am more insecure than I was before. I don’t feel good enough for many things. I used to volunteer.
