Rexford's mama says:

When you get home begin doing slow repetitive motions with trunk and extremities up and down and crossing over etc.
This helps teach the brain the way everything should be moving.
Keep a daily/weekly Dairy- something to tell you that you are noticing weakness and/or spasticity and in what area, and if things seem to be helping or are they stagnant.
Talk to your baby even when they are newborn. They will learn from your words and tone of your voice.
If you notice signs of problems and your pediatrician wants to waive it off then call Shriners and make an appointment. It is free and you can refer yourself. They won't diagnosed but they will treat the problems for free.
As they get older, teach your baby some sign language. I have seen babies learn sign language before they could talk.
I am looking into scalp acupuncture but would especially like to find those that know "Zhu's scalp acupuncture" and have worked with those with cerebral palsy.
I am also looking into that Spinex- it is more than a TENS unit but I don't know how else to describe it. I am going to try my TENS unit on Rex's weak leg since he had a circumcision and can't do tummy time or get a real bath. I lowered the temperature in our hot tub, purchased a whole body bathing suit, and a floaty for babies. He slept like a rock for the first time.
I can't wait to do it again before he goes to bed.
I am giving him massages prior to going to bed but I realized another thing, he needs to keep warm. The cold exacerbates his motions.
So I purchased Gerber (they were thin white, long-sleeved, onesies) that I can pull the sleeves over his hands.
Then I put a short sleeved t-shirt over him along with soft pants and socks.
I tried socks on his hands but he wasn't buying that one.
I believe you have to start the repetitive exercises as soon as you can because it is just like a TBI. The brain learns from those minute motions. Check out Michelle Turner's movement lessons and you will understand everything. 😊

Hi you mentioned 80% of the grade I IVH progresses to a higher grade. How long does it take to get to the final stage? In other words, how long for it to stop progressing?
