Marine Corps veteran Chris Lawrence sustained a traumatic brain injury (TBI) in 2007 while serving in Iraq. Shortly after, Lawrence found himself struggling with multiple symptoms, including memory issues.

In this video, Lawrence talks about his experience going back to school following his TBI diagnosis — specifically how the injury affected his learning and study habits — as well as the importance of setting frequent reminders throughout the day.

The website also features additional resources to prevent, recognize and recover from brain injury. It’s important to know that each brain injury is different. Not everyone with TBI experiences the same signs and symptoms — that is why it’s always a good idea to get checked out by a medical provider.
