In this MS Workouts YouTube Video, Jeff will be guiding you through a stretch you can perform at home with little equipment for foot drop. Foot Drop affects millions of people worldwide and can be a symptom of many different conditions including stroke and Multiple Sclerosis.

The Calf Stretch will help lengthen the calf muscles thereby reduce spasticity, and increase flexion of the ankle & foot – giving you more control of your foot drop.

Perform this Calf Stretch every day for maximum results.

Each of our exercises are designed by Tina Warring, Director of Physical Therapy at the Central Texas Neurology Consultants in Round Rock, TX. Performing her exercises with the Steady-Pace Exercise Technique is the best way to pursue exercise seriously while living with Multiple Sclerosis.

If you have foot drop and somehow this calf/gastrocnemius stretch works for you then what you have might be a FALSE foot drop, the real cause might be the extensor synergy pattern where glutes, quads and gastroc firing in a pattern rather than dorsiflexor weakness (which is the real footdrop seen in stroke)
