Ian Whitecross says:

I started shortly after my stroke, to crawl on my hands and knee’s.
I watch my grandchildren as they explore movement in their play and daily adventures. My stroke left me paralyzed on my left side on 7/12/23. And now, 7 month’s later I’m able to do things that frustrated and depressed me at first. Some days my arm and hand dexterity are slower or my walking is unsteady, but I will watch learn and try everything to get back, and on the floor work I have the added benefit of enjoying our grandchildren.TaraTobias is a great resource for me and

I find overload of information at times, but remain active for my recovery.
Practice and keep striving to improve.

Hi, I am a stroke survivor. My left hand & leg are paralyzed. Despite my therapy, the worst thing was always when the stopwatch came out. That meant that therapy was ending! Thanks for everything. Lots more work to do!

Bernd Wildner says:

Hi…, is there a link between shoulder and hip flexor…? I noticed that when I do shoulder exercises/ lifting straight arm….my hip flexor get also very sore that I sometimes too weak to go outside for a walk. – and when I walk…..my arm get so heavy/ weak that I can’t imagine doing any arm exercises. That very frustrating because I have only one goal! I work hard for it every day all day long. From morning to the night. Of cause a rest / nap between to get the things hardwired…..

Ernest Reid says:

Thanks Tara. Getting down to the floor and back up is important. One of the members of the MS group I belong to had to call the EMTs 3 times in one day to get off the floor. My sister in law with osteoarthritis has to call EMTs if she slides off the bed on to the floor. I am glad you showed rolling. Sometimes if you can't get up, you can roll across the floor to a chair. Or like I have done, roll 20 feet across the lawn to a porch and get myself up. Most of the the time I can get myself up with no assistance. But sometimes things just do not work. Its good to have options.

Jared Messer says:

I really need help. I’m 27 and had a 2nd brain surgery. I then developed 2 dvts in my right leg as I was progressing very well. I then got put on a corticosteroid for way to long.

My right leg has since developed minor foot drop, when I swing through to walk my knee is very floppy and hyper extends on occasion and I have very limited dorsiflexion and an extremely weak hamstring and the physical therapist around here are booked for months and say they can’t really handle neuro based recovery. I’m still able to be independent and lift weights and have consulted my Dr who thinks more than likely it’s from the steroids. Any advice or thoughts

Fred Kotthaus says:

Darko Darkovic says:

It is very good to have a routine for lifting due to psychological safety, and there are also many benefits, for example due to resistance to rapid changes in pressure due to a change in position. Thanks, have a nice week.
