"Typically we start with bracing, and the brace would basically hold your foot in a neutral position. And essentially you would have to wear the brace at all times to hold your foot up so that you didn't develop a contracture. When patients become sick of their brace because they're tired of wearing it all the time, then we start thinking about surgical options.."
